Police looking for leads in two separate homicides in Oklahoma City
Apr 10, 2018KOKH)OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Several unexplained deaths are keeping investigators on high alert. Oklahoma City police need your help looking for suspects in two separate homicides.Police are looking for clues in two separate homicides that have occurred in the past week. Medical examiner officials say 19-year-old Wilson Perez died of blunt force trauma to the head and was strangled. Police say family members became concerned when the 19-year-old did not come home. So, they began searching themselves Sept. 17. They later found Perez's body at Harlow Park.Police reports show his body was located in a treeline just north of the soccer field. At this point, investigators believe Perez was murdered.On Sept. 14 Oklahoma City firefighters responded to a fire at a bookstore, which soon turned into a crime scene.Loved by many is what’s posted on the front door of 30 Penn Books. Bookstore owner, Kelly Hays lost his life Thursday, where police said they're now investigating this as a homicide. And the community wants answers. Posting signs like this saying, "We want justice for 30 Penn Books".This deadly fire remains under investigation. Smoke was reported coming from the building Thursday afternoon. Fire officials said the business was closed at the time. Police said the bookstore owner was found dead underneath a pile of books in his burning store.Now, 66-year-old Kelly Hays death is being investigated as a homicide. His body was found about 20 feet from the front door of the bookstore. Officials say Hays died from sharp force trauma. Fire officials said the building was intentionally set ablaze. A sign posted outside of 30 Penn Book said Hays will be remembered at a funeral Sunday. Family are inviting customers to attend, which will be held at Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary, 13125 N.
